Catches typos (recieve → receive), real-word confusions (their/there, its/it’s, could of → could have), verb forms (he go → he goes, Does he goes → go), articles (a apple → an, an user → a) and punctuation spacing.
On your text, only the points to look at are underlined: red, solid line = a sure fix; orange, dashed line = worth checking — you decide; dotted line = two words that are easy to mix up.
The corrected text appears in the box below, with the sure fixes already made, in green. Click a word there — or an underlined word in your own text — to open its card: apply · undo · ignore, and why.
Your text stays freely editable, and Ctrl+Z still goes back. 📋 Copy takes the corrected text. ◂ ▸ walk through the corrections one by one.
While you type, ➡️ complete offers common words that start the same way (Tab takes the first one).
Theme, Colour-blind palette and Readable font change the display only; your choices are remembered on this device.
🔡 Sound font shows how the words sound: letters that are not pronounced are coloured, voiced consonants (b, d, g, v, z…) are heavy and voiceless ones (p, t, k, f, s…) light. ✂️ Syllables colours every other syllable. Both follow the dictionary’s pronunciation; a word it does not know is read from its spelling, and that guess can be wrong.
🔊 Read aloud uses a voice installed on your device. If it has no English voice, the browser may read with an online voice (in Chrome: its Google voice) — the text being read is then sent to that service.
The checking itself runs entirely in your browser, offline: your text is not sent anywhere.
